The AOR 2023 Color Run

Cherub Fun Run,

1 Mile Run and 5K

 

St. Raphael School in Rockville is hosting its 12th Annual Angels on the Run - and this time, your favorite SRS event will be an explosion of color!  Please join us for our first-ever Color Run - a bright and beautiful morning of exercise, music and fun!

Proceeds from AOR help fund St. Raphael School and its programs.

All races are untimed. Prizes will be awarded to the top finisher of the 1 mile run, and the top finisher under 15 and over 15 for the 5K.

 

What is a Color Run?

A traditional Color Run is an untimed 5K race where participants begin dressed in clean white T-shirts and pass through 5 color stations during their run, one every kilometer.  Each color station is associated with a different color, with volunteers blasting runners with dyed cornstarch out of bottles before the runners arrive at the finish line and the party that awaits them there.

In our AOR Color Run, we'll save the color powder until runners cross the finish line at SRS.  Participants can choose to enter "the color zone" and be blasted or bypass the zone and head straight to the rest of the food and fun.  With proceeds to benefit the Teacher & Staff Gift Fund, Color Run participants will be able to increase their color quotient with hair chalk, face paint and tattoos, or visit the Color Run game, raffle and food stations for many more shades of glee!

Race Route!

On Race Day:

  • Please arrive no later than 8 a.m. on 11/11 for the AOR kick-off celebration!
  • Allow extra time to park. Your parking options are the Potomac Woods Pool or Falls Road Local Park (aka - Hadley's Park). SRS School & Church lots will be closed as well as Ritchie Park Elementary School.
  • If you did not pick up a race packet on Friday, you may pickup between 7:45 a.m. and 8:25 a.m. onsite.
  • Walk in registrations are welcome the morning of the race for $35 a runner or $155 for a family of 5. Cash or check made payable to SRS only. T-Shirts are subject to availability if registration occurs after the published order deadline.

Race Start Times:

Cherub/Fun Run -- 8:15 a.m.

AOR 1 Mile -- 8:30 a.m.

AOR 5K -- 8:55 a.m.

 

The Race Routes:

Please familiarize yourself with the route map before race day. There will be signs, race marshals, water stations, first aide, and police stationed throughout the course for the safety of the runners.

 

AOR Pre-Party & Packet/T-Shirt Pick-Up Information:

Many thanks to our Premier Sponsor, Orangetheory Fitness, for hosting this year's Pre-Party and Packet/T-shirt Pick-Up! 

On Friday, November 10th, all members of the St. Raphael community age 14 and up can join fellow race goers for a fitness class at the Park Potomac location at 1:30 pm, which will be followed by games and refreshments (for Angels of all ages) at 2:30 pm.  Space is limited for the fitness class, so a "first-come first-served" donation of $30 is requested to reserve your spot, with all proceeds to benefit St. Raphael School.

Packets and T-shirts can be picked up during the fitness class or after-party, until 4:30 pm.
